This special, temporary exhibition is part of the three-day celebration of Kutztown native Keith Haring’s life and work, starting with the October 11 dedication of his PA Historical and Museum Commission marker on the grounds of the society’s 1892 Public School Building. Keith grew up in the same neighborhood as the building and attended school in its rooms.
The exhibition features many articles from Haring’s career as a prolific artist in the 1980s, all of which come from the collections of Kutztown area friends, family, and fans of Keith’s art. The highlight of the exhibition is memorabilia of Keith’s life and work in Kutztown including photographs, early work, and original chalk drawings. Please be aware that some exhibit items are sexual in nature.
