Fred Moll, historian of the Theodore Burr Covered Bridge Society of Pennsylvania and author of five books about covered bridges, discusses the recent restoration of our famous local bridge. The bridge was known as Dreibelbis Mill Covered Bridge until 1874, when the Berks County Railroad built a station there. Since then, it’s been known as the Dreibelbis Station bridge. Constructed in 1869, the bridge was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981. One of five covered bridges in Berks County, it is the 15th longest in the United States.
